ANDY WARHOL FILM

Consumerism, glamour, catastrophes and mass media - the art of Andy Warhol is a reflection of America. With Campbell's soup cans and a silkscreened Marilyn, the son of Slovak immigrants rose to become a Pop Art icon. Warhol stylized his blond wig, eccentric appearance and excessive goings-on in the legendary Factory as his trademark. He legitimized art as a saleable mass commodity. Designer, artist, filmmaker, music producer and publisher - for some he was a genius, for others a flat epigone. Kim Evans portrays the controversial figure and the total work of art that is Warhol.
