Join us on a walk from the Kunsthalle to St Michael's Church. Our route runs right through the heart of the merchant city. You will see many attractive buildings and newly remodelled historical ensembles. With a view of the Jungfernstieg, we walk along the Alster to the monument to the great Romantic poet Heinrich Heine, who spent over six years in Hamburg. White arcades and canals convey a touch of Venice, while the imposing town hall exudes civic pride. Via the Alter Wall art boulevard, we cross picturesque bridges and canals to reach the Stadthöfe, newly designed by star architect David Chipperfield. From there we cross the Fleetinsel to Hamburg's landmark, the Michel, which now awaits your visit.
