untranquil now: a constellation of narratives and resonances
With untranquil now, attention is focused on artworks, figures and events, that authorize complexity, in which bodies and modes of perception become the agents of contradictory states and troubled histories, disarming configurations of power and unlocking imagination out of dead zones to explore heterogeneous narratives. Doing so, these artistic gestures and performative devices bank on a creative breakthrough of the world.
Proposing a web of historical resonances or coincidences, a multiplicity of milieus and experiences with sensorial, spatial, psycho-physical, political and social circumstances, the exhibition establishes relations to memory and intimacy, bringing to the surface historic sediments to propagate their effects. Doing so, in various regimes of intensity, it evokes “contrapuntal consciousness” (Edward Said), and how art does justice to the event, in attempting to restore its intensive potential.
