Soirée & Salon

In this genre-spanning series, musicians, curators and scholars come together at least once every three months to discuss parallels, intersections and differences between music and visual art. Works from the permanent collection or special exhibitions serve as the starting point for the discussions, and the links between the two art forms may arise from their subject matter or historical context, or be related to the history of ideas. Each event is unique and addresses a new topic. Many renowned musicians, art experts and theorists have already taken part in this popular event at the Hamburger Kunsthalle or will be appearing here soon, including the Mandelring Quartet, Steffen Schleiermacher, Melanie Diener, Joachim Held, the Ensemble Resonanz, Annika Ritlewski, Natalia Ehwald, Knut Schoch and Henning Lucius, Herfried Münkler, Volker Scherliess, Oliver Huck, Udo Bermbach and Michael Diers. Please note that unless otherwise specified, the discussions are held in German.
