Visits to the Hamburger Kunsthalle are possible for everyone. 

Tickets can be purchased via the online shop and on site at our box offices. For the exhibition Class Society we recommend to buy time slot tickets in advance.

We recommend that people who are particularly at risk continue to wear a mask when visiting the Hamburger Kunsthalle for their own protection.

Events

Participation in special events is subject to the regulation of the City of Hamburg. Information can be found here.

Further Information

  • Private tours are also possible with a maximum of 10 - 15 participants (depending on the exhibition area). Book your individual guided tour up to one week in advance through the Museumsdienst Hamburg by calling +49(0)40-428131-0 or via e-mail to info[at]museumsdienst-hamburg.de. For bookings at short notice, please contact the visitor's office of the Hamburger Kunsthalle by e-mail via info[at]hamburger-kunsthalle.de, or by phone +49(0)40-428131-200.
  • The Hamburg Children's Room is open again.
  • The library is open during the usual opening hours. You will need a time slot reservation to visit. Current time slots are: Tue, Wed, Fri: 11am-1pm, 1pm-3pm, 3pm-5pm and Thurs: 11am-1pm, 1pm-3pm, 3pm-5pm and 5pm-7pm. Please note that registration by e-mail is required, as currently only time slots of two hours can be reserved. The library is closed on public holidays.

Tickets

  • Tickets can be purchased in advance online via Ticketmaster or at our tickets counters.
  • In our current exhibition Calss Society, the number of people is limited by fixed ticket quotas. It is recommended to buy tickets for tis exhibition in advance. (The time slot you have booked applies to admission to the museum. The time you spend in the exhibition is unlimited.)
  • Visitors with a corresponding proof of entitlement to free admission (children, young people under 18, members of the Friends of the Museum, ICOM, etc.) can also purchase a ticket via Ticketmaster. Due to the additional administrative effort, a system fee of 1 € per ticket will be charged for booking.
