The Café George Economou - established in September 2011 - is located in the Rotunda close to the main entrance of the old wing. Thanks to the benefits of the Greek ship owner and collector George Economou the furniture could be realized with chairs and tables designed by Philipp Starck for the legendary Café Costes in Paris.
Enjoy snacks, Antipasti, Coffee and Tea, Cakes, Drinks and Cocktails.

The Café Liebermann is located in the old building; a staircase with the Jenny Holzer installation "Ceiling Snake" creates an underground connection between the older structure and the new Galerie der Gegenwart.
The café's name is a tribute to the close working relationship between the painter Max Liebermann and Alfred Lichtwark, founding director of the Kunsthalle.
Bistro Gallery of Contemporary Art
We are currently refurbishing our restaurant area. In sprigtime 2012 the new restaurant Cube will be open to the public.

In the meantime, please visit the Café George Economou next to the main entrance or the historical Café Liebermann at the heart of the museum.
