STANDPUNKT
Mariella Mosler

Mariella Mosler has been an established name in the international art scene at least since her participation in documenta X. As part of the exhibition series "Standpunkt", Mosler will present one of the sand pieces that are characteristic for her oeuvre. With painstaking meticulousness and patience she creates floor works that not only reflect the form of the particular space but are also limited to the duration of the exhibition.

Mariella Mosler's second installation piece also relates to the presentation space. It represents a new development in the artist's oeuvre: for the first time she will present a mirror piece as an integrative element between the viewer, the space, the neighbouring sand piece and the architecture visible through the windows. This artistic undertaking is carried out to the same degree of perfection and demands an equally large investment of time, with the result that our fast-moving times seem to be temporarily suspended. The auratic presence of both works invites the viewer to pause and to experiment with different viewing perspectives.
